WF Best Groups
Incoming SA 2027 at WF, starting to think ahead to group placement. I know there’s a pretty big gap between groups in terms of experience/exits. Which groups should I be targeting and which should I avoid? Have heard FIG/Industrials/REGAL are strong but would like some color on others. Also curious how the product groups stack up against coverage.

Also heard fig/regal were strong. Any insights into m&a or tmt?
TMT is pretty weak deal flow.
T5 US balance sheet bank so generally imagine LevFin, DCM, and capital-intensive sectors like FIG, RE, Industrials, PU&I, tend to be strong anecdotally. I think TMT had a rebound from a shit group to a good group. I may be wrong tho.
TMT got the shittiest bonus this cycle, really low
It’s FIG and REGAL hands down. Heard M&A got sweated this summer with pretty brutal return rates.
Still no word on how TMT/HC have been performing so not sure if things have improved. Also unsure of how exactly industrials did this summer but heard returns were lower as well.
PUR is on the up from what I’ve heard from the rest of the class. Longer hours but better work. LevFin will always have deal flow. You will get worked. Heard culture in sponsors was good.

E&P was top coverage group this year. One of the highest average analyst bonuses, if not highest among all groups
Yes the power team at wells is excellent. Not to be confused with the Houston oil and gas team.
