WF TMT SF

Looking for insight for WF TMT SF. I heard the NY group is a pitch sweatshop with a bad culture. How’s the culture/wlb in SF.  Does the SF team and NY team work with each other often?

Based on previous WSO threads, Wells Fargo's TMT group in San Francisco generally has a better reputation compared to its New York counterpart. The SF team is often viewed as more collaborative and less of a "pitch sweatshop." The culture in SF is described as more balanced, with a focus on deal execution rather than just pitching. Work-life balance (WLB) is relatively better, though it can still be demanding, especially during live deals.

Regarding collaboration between the SF and NY teams, there is some overlap, but the SF office tends to focus more on tech-related deals given its proximity to Silicon Valley. The NY team, on the other hand, leans more towards media and telecom. While cross-office collaboration happens, it’s not as frequent as in some other firms where staffing is more integrated across locations.

SF is primarily focused on the tech aspect of TMT. Sweatshop with occasional big deals.
