WFH edition - Day in a life of an Investment Banker

There are so many stories about how it's been insane over the last few month. What kind of routine y'all have? Post along with level (an, as, vp) and preferably the type of bank and région as well.

8:00AM: Gym / breakfast

9:00AM-6:00PM: Pure grind / tackling one off tasks, will have netflix on in the background if its a slow day / no deliverables that day

6:00PM-8:00PM: Might be just me but these hours get real quiet... typically half as stressful as the rest of the day

8:00PM-EOD: More work... Usually done by 10 or 3AM, not much inbetween

8:00 - 10:00 am- log on, go through any overnight stuff that came in. Markets open at 9:30 and get a few reports together, what deals priced, stocks we follow. Etc..

10:00 am- 4:00 pm - work on any deals we are doing/pitching. One off request. What ever the day brings really. Go the day praying no new RFP’s come in that might ruin my weekend

4:00pm - market closes so more getting some reports together. Seeing what deals are getting priced, start to get things together due that night for my associate/vp

10pm - finishing a few things up, waiting for my associate to ruin my night

12am. Off to bed, usually done by midnight every day. Done by 9ish if it’s a Friday.

There are moments where its slow. Turn some Netflix on while I do things that aren't too urgent. Waiting on comments and what not. I walk away from my desk every few hours for 20 or so min to take a break. Anyone who sits there non stop is crazy and I refuse to let the job ruin me. You'll learn when somethings can wait and when you can chill for a few.

Wake up at 9, immediately log into 50 missed emails.  Work rapidly and frantically missing lunch and dinner sometimes (some days im too busy to even order seamless).

Have a stupid group call with md for comments at 10pm est for a calendar invite that went out at 9:50(he expects us to be logged in ready to go).

Work until 3am, realize I haven't set foot outside my room all day.

Repeat.
