WFH - how to check work?
normally i'd print shit out and tick and tie every single mf before sending it - barely had issues with careless mistakes in the past.
now i can't print anything since working fully virtual, been making heaps of silly careless mistakes and been scolded for it a few times.
literally am doing the work correctly but when it's on a page it just is wrong when i send it out in pdf.
how have you guys gotten around this?
Have you thought about looking at your decks using presentation mode? What about using Gridlines in Powerpoint just to make sure things are aligned right?
that might be a good idea actually but not about alignment really, i'm straight up copying numbers wrong etc
Haha I wish you had been clearer. My mind immediately goes to formatting. As far as copying the numbers incorrectly, have you thought about adding an intermediate step into your modeling. Whatever numbers you need to transfer - link them in a sheet to a table formatted to look like how it would go into the deck. This way you've got the numbers isolated in one place and ready to copy. Assuming you don't link it wrong, you should be set.
The "hard copy" i use now ends up being a PDF on my ipad and i check things off as I review with the ipad annotation ability. And to compare against prior pages where numbers show up, i just pull up the same PDF on my computer screen and manually cross-reference against the ipad PDF version.
dude i was thinking to do exactly that and i was willing to buy an ipad but i dont think we have functionality within the bank it infrastructure to acess their systems on a personal mobile device other than on citrix (which is on pc)
Worth asking your IT dept. I have to imagine given how many senior bankers use iPads these days there must be a Citrix app that replicates that functionality from your PC.
+1 for iPad x-ref
We have a full M365 setup which we can login to our iPads with so fairly easy to do - means i actually use it for something other than Netflix...
After you get PDF comments and turn them, re-PDF the deck and compare to the old version. Ctrl+tabbing let’s you easily see what changed between drafts
good advice also, thanks!
