What are realistic transfer options for me?

Got a 3.93 gpa my freshman year (finance major Econ minor)

At a standard state school (think udel penn state UConn etc)

HS SAT 1510

HS GPA 3.3 (difficult curriculum)

I understand that top targets are out of reach, but are there any good semi targets that i can get into that may land me a job on Wall Street

At least a dozen I can simply think of top of my head. Cornell, Wharton, Columbia, Brown, Emory, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, etc., types of schools are all worth applying for.

Doesn't matter that much since he is a Sophomore now with solid college GPA. Wharton is probably a stretch though. Have seen people get into these schools with similar stats.

He should still give it a shot. Schools look at the improvement highly. If I may add a suggestion I would reach out to some transfer admissions counselors and just ask to speak with them. Tell them how much it means and how hard you worked as well as how much you appreciate the opportunity. Having a solid attitude plus good stats at your college, they will see that mindset and really remember you. Ask them some questions that shows you did your research on the college and tell them things you really like. I did this and transferred with a 3.91 from a state school type of college to a top 10-15 university. I had a 1.7 GPA in high school. The thing is people change but stats only show that so much, having the humbleness to let them see your drive and admit you messed up will go far.

All depends on ecs and essays. It’s insanely difficult to transfer, HYPSM take 10 ish kids each, and about 6 of that is CC/Vet. I think if you can write amazing essays and have solid essays, I think Emory, Vandy, Mich, Stern, Cornell policy and management ( Dyson and AS are super low, the Cornell transfer rate is inflated with TOs in the other colleges, and Brown. Best of luck!
