What can I do immerse myself into finance before my first year of college?

Hi

I'm an up and coming college freshman who is very interested in pursuing finance. What can I do to immerse myself into finance and essentially get a headstart over my peers. I have heard that reading the wall street journals finance and economic sections are important but what articles should I be targeting and what specific information should I be looking to glean from them.

Additionally, I am very interesting in starting to invest some money in the stock market. Where do I start as a novice and how could I become knowledgeable enough to make a profit? Would this make sense for someone looking to start with under 1,000 dollars?

Thanks for the advice in advance this website has been very helpful!

First step at being a total fucking baller in finance is resourcefulness. There are literally thousands of posts exactly like this. Find them and read them.
