What determines bonus numbers for analysts and associates?
I have a return offer to a FT analyst position and want to learn more about bonuses.
I've been looking at different bonus numbers at places and noticed there are people ranked middle bucket with 3 years of experience that get 85%+ as bonus while other people get 30% bonus for middle bucket with 1 year of experience even if they're in the same firm.
Is there a reason why middle buckets would have this large of a difference and is it mainly because of years of experience or is it more dependent on the group you work in? For example would an m&a coverage group pay higher percentages for bonus than a tmt coverage group?
