What did you do with your first 'real' suit?

For anyone who's been working for 5+ years now (I'm on year 4 as a second year associate), what did you do with your first 'real' suit? My group was having a dinner, and an MD was telling us how he just passed 15 years and that he still has his very first suit that he bought right after graduating high school. He said it was a cheap discount department store (like Belk or something) wool suit. He said that he wears it the first day of every single month at work ever since he came back from his MBA program. He described it as his first 'real' suit by saying that, while it wasn't his first ever, it was the first he actually used frequently for professional purposes.

Most seniors I've asked this to don't know what happened to it, or they donated it. Personally, I think mine is sitting around somewhere in a closet at my parents house, but I'm not really sure.

Interested in your stories.

Still wear it when the occasion calls for it which is very rare maybe 3-4x/year at this point.

Money can purchase freedom, if you have the guts to buy it

Still have mine, but imo it’s less of a big deal than say a watch as it’s just an item to be worn out. I’d argue that your first made for measure suit would be more important than what is a department suit of poor quality.

For me I got a blazer for my 16th Birthday from Boss from my dad that I love and fits me well and it will be more important than my first full suit
