What division should I focus to be an investor or an entrpreneur? Maybe not IB?
Dear,
I first looked at finance because I believed it was a pathway to a big buck. I heard investment banking makes the biggest buck out of undergrad and everybody around me seems to be obsessed with IB as well. That said, interviewing with people for ER/PE/AM firms and answering what's your goal for the ultimate career path questions, I realized I want to be an investor or an entrepreneur. I was just short-sighted and obsessed with "NYC BB IBD".
I enjoyed my equity research internship because reading 10K/Q and extracting an investment idea was fun and attended meetings with management members frequently which is fascinating to me. I recently got interested in ER to HF path (or right to HF out of undergrad). I guuess IB isn't for me and I should go for ER or buy-side (PE/HF)?
What's your thoughts on this? I appreciate your help!
