What happens if I accelerate?

I have just gotten an offer from a bank for SA 2025. I am in the process for another bank. The first position is generalist while the later one is industry specific. Iwould much prefer the second bank so am thinking of accelerating their process with my offer.

One thing I am afraid of is, if the banks would talk between themselves, potentially resulting in my offer from the first bank, being rescinded. do the banks check between each other or something like that?

Thank you!

so they don't get angry unless you accept the offer. let bank 2 know about your first offer and ask to accelerate, and they will go from there. nobody is gonna care that you are accelerating processes, it's the reneging part that can get a little murky.

Few initial thoughts ASSUMING you haven't accepted the first offer:

No. They wouldn't take back their offering assuming you aren't reneging
Even if the first bank find out, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd rather give an offer to a candidate that has been having traction with a number of banks and multiple offers vs. a candidate that only went through a single process, it makes you more desirable in their eyes

The first bank doesn't know you necessarily prefer the second bank, would have to be a really insecure bank for someone with hiring power to take back the offer just because they found out you're still interviewing. No one really cares, why would bank #2 notify bank #1 unless they didn't believe you had an exploding offer, even then they wouldn't reach out to a competitor

If you are reneging yes, if they found out you are still interviewing they can 100% take back your offer. Will they find out, probably not.
