what happens to all the normal people who work in the big 4?

It's no surprise that many top non-elite universities are absolute big 4 factories (think UCLA) who have no issue with sending hordes of their business and economic students to the big 4 year after year after year.

What happens to all these bodies - do they eventually figure out all the finance jazz and pivot to IB after an attempt in attending an MBA? Are they perpetually stuck in middle management? What is the fate, the true reality, of what happens to all these kids ?

My prior company (think prestigious B4, like PwC/DT/EY) has some very fine people. Some of us make the switch to a more prestigious industry (think PE/IB/Law school) while others crush it in the B4 on their way to Partner (think $1m+ sal). Others land in a stable corporate accounting job they're happy with that the average person would find prestigious (think Controller in F100/F500).But make no mistake, they're all wondering what the intern in IB thinks of them
