Sum of parts is to value each segment of a large company individually then just add those values together. For example, imagine you took PepsiCo and valued Diet Pepsi, Aquafina, etc... all separately then you just add those in.
Net asset value is common in some RX deal and is just valuing a company by the MARKET value of assets minus their liabilities.
