What to ask during call with staffer?

I applied to a summer analyst position at a BB recently. I have a call with the staffer of a group I am highly interested in. This is just a networking call and not an official interview call, but considering that I already applied, it probably would have the same importance.

My question is, what do I ask a staffer (think Director to MD level) that I wouldn't ask an analyst? I've mostly spoken with analysts (in this group and in general), so I'm not quite sure what to ask.

Ask him/her how much s/he makes, what PE exits look like from their group, and ask if you can get off work after 60 hours - cite your need for beauty rest if they protest it at all.

Don’t overthink it OP. What do you genuinely want to know? Do you have no questions to ask them? I stopped networking for a couple months this cycle because I realized I didn’t have any actual questions to ask them.

I started getting interviews and bombing my first few, so I figured out really quickly what I wanted to ask in networking calls next. Ask about their background, what led them to IB, what led them to their group, if they have any cool hobbies that help them to take a step back from work to think deals through.... it’s not rocket science. Just make sure you don’t ask them anything worthless like my first few questions in this post, and don’t ask them what it’s like being an analyst at the bank because that doesn’t apply to them anymore.

In other words, ask them about THEIR CURRENT job, not what their job was like/how they dealt with it 6-7 years ago
