Unfortunately don't think HR even knows whats going to happen to their own jobs, much less the internships. At this point, don't think anyone (even higher ups orchestrating the deal) know how or when any kind of incorporation of CS IBD might take place.

Best you can do for now is keep your fingers crossed that UBS' overarching plan will somehow include the internship taking place, but it could be a while before even they know what that plan is.

My guess is that a plan for incoming interns is the absolutely lowest priority on the list right now. I honestly don't think that anyone has devoted a single thought to incoming interns. Deals will still be ongoing and I would be very surprised if they managed to consolidate the entire CS IB division within 2 months. Wouldn't want to rush such an integration because it would likely become extremely painful for clients, which would result in lost business and damaged reputation. Moreover, they will need intern support as any junior employee at CS will run as fast as they can away from that place (which is however not very easy in this market). However, on the other hand no one is going to give CS a mandate right now so new business will be dead and likely they won't even pitch at this stage either as they know it is pointless until there is clarity on what is going to happen with the business going forward. I would assume that the conversion rate will be extremely low though, so don't count on getting a full-time position. With that said you can ask HR for clarity but I doubt anyone has a clue what will happen to interns and most likely you will be fine. Doesn't hurt to start looking for other options though.
