what would you be doing at reuters? i had a friend who almost worked there, they told him he'd work on trading platforms or get to learn about algorithmic trading and he ended up being assigned to "Client Training" i.e. he would have been on-site tech support for a trading floor using the reuters products. lucky for him he'd landed a better gig at a small hf firm and gave them a big fuck you

I'd say do PWM. As a rising sophomore, having the name Merill Lynch on your resume is a huge plus, recruiters won't know it's unpaid, and it would give you a good opportunity to network with senior people in more prestigious divisions within the IB, and these contacts could come in handy when applying for your junior summer internship

Usually those ML PWM internships are for branch offices, not the HQ in the World Financial Center. I know a few guys who did it at the NJ offices. The branches probably have nothing to do with the IBD, so I don't think it would be that helpful for networking, but I could be wrong. Still if you're an underclassman with that internship, it's a good name to have on your resume. And you'll surely be ahead of the other freshmen.

PWM are branch office positions, and it will not help you with "networking" into IBD.
