When to negotiate travel expenses with employer
I will be interning at a boutique IB this summer and the position is unpaid, however in the contract it mentions "reimbursement of allowable expenses at the discretion of the firm." I live pretty far from the office and commute will likely cost ~$15 per day, is this something that's usually allowed to be expensed at smaller firms? If so, should I bring it up via email prior to the start date or when I actually start?
