Where Are You Now?
I wanted to start a thread discussing the long term prospect of banking. Specifically, for those who entered the rat race as an analyst or associate in the past, where did you end up? What doors did it open for you?
It seems that a lot of people end up choosing the industry, because they aren't sure what they want to do and banking is the best option for leaving doors open. For those who joined banking some time ago, where are you now? Did you expect to be here? How have your goals changed?
I would also be interested to hear if anyone went into the industry with a unique goal in mind and if they capitalized on it through the training, network, and capital the banking opens up.
I personally am staying as I don't mind the work and pay. Everyone glorifies exits on this forum, but if you truly enjoy the job then I don't see the issue with staying. Godspeed to fellow career bankers as well.
