Which is harder to get?
We all hear summer analyst offers for BB firms tend to be harder to land than FT analyst offers. But how about landing a FT analyst offer without any prior internship experience? How does that compare to getting summer analyst offer? Assume the applicant is from target school.
i know this is an old thread, but im interested in the answer.
Wow, never thought I would respond to a thread from 2007...that's pre-Bear Sterns.
I'd say getting the FT is harder regardless of internship experience because there are fewer slots. I went to a target, and the GS/MS/JPM didn't even recruit FTs in the fall, though they did heavily with SAs in the spring. Ditto any other bank that fills its slots from its intern class. I'd imagine without a finance-related internship, getting a FT interview and subsequent offer will be tough.
