Who the hell is Mobius Ventures
These guys, whoever they are, incessantly spam the job board on LinkedIn for allegedly "remote" positions. What even is this? Their website looks like an early 2000s GeoCities site or MySpace or something
At the very least it would be good if LinkedIn could crack down on this spam since it's not helpful to anyone
Must be some kind of scam / data farming because theyre spamming my linkedin as well with descriptions that dont even match the job
H1B fraud
Complete scam. The founders are these diversity hire clowns who couldn’t hack it in consulting / banking. Have made a business promising candidates “proprietary” jobs that they have access to, but in reality those job postings are fake (created using chatgpt, poorly too) and a front to get coaching candidates in the door. They then charge these kids thousands of dollars up front to give them garbage advice. The guys running it are awful people who have moved on from one scam to the next historically They are allergic to making money honestly.
I've spoken with several of their former customers, and each was told there was a guarantee get them find a job in their field.
However, they all said they hadn't gotten a single interview through Mobius, let alone a job. When they tried to get their money back, the founder claimed that a BS clause in the terms of service—something about stating accessing the 'proprietary' website counted as using the service—meant their payment was nonrefundable.
At the time I spoke with them, none had received any refund despite trying to for some time.
I've been contacted by several of their ex-clients feeling they were taken advantage of and more recently a few coaches who Femi decided he didnt want to pay.
Feel free to shoot me a direct message here if something similar has happened to you and I'll connect you with that group
Keep reporting them to LinkedIn so their posts will be removed. Nothing but fake posts.
If you email LinkedIn fraud department explaining that the job posts are not authentic role openings but rather a marketing ploy designed to attract job seekers and sell job their nonsense career help services linkedin will ban the company page from posting more jobs.
From what I can tell, LinkedIn ended up blacklisting their former company Parabolic and likely Mobius too given I dont see any new posts.
Just something to keep in mind as they inevitably spin up a new entity to do the same as before.
Who are the founders tho? I tried searching online but could only find a bunch of employees. If it's a scam, it's a well-run one because they have almost 20k followers on LinkedIn and a lot of employees (many doing other jobs too tho).
Does anyone know who actually runs it?
Probs bought followers but they’re mostly search funds disguised as PE
My non target ass applied and never heard back💀
Just look on LinkedIn at who is associated with them. Won’t dox them but they don’t hide it.
The scam coaching business they run is called “Augment Jobs”. They spam the fake jobs under that company name as well.
And the followers are 100% fake fyi
How do we get them to actually get removed though? Because it seems like LinkedIn doesn't give a fuck...
LOL...I occasionally check the weekly Linkedin jobs VC/PE updates, and it's more or less 90% Mobius opportunities. You don't even see legitimate ones due to their spam. I have been reporting them for fun as it's so absurd. Linkedin needs to figure that out.
Man I know. It's a real bummer for someone on the hunt right now as well. So many fake postings.
If we all report it will it get taken down? I’ve reported some of their jobs as spam but seems like it needs to be 1 by 1.
Its really messing up my job alerts
I don't consider these to be legitimate job listings, I don't know enough to call it a scam but some seem to be for raising capital or finding investors.
Speaking in general, anything that isn't explicitly a job listing is suspicious enough for me to ignore regardless of who the founders are. LinkedIn is filled with sales of unregistered securities, unregistered advisors, and improper financial promotion posing as legitimate opportunities.
Hey everyone, I applied to this company after seeing a few listings on LinkedIn and was later contacted by its founder, Femi Palmer. Given some of the concerns I had seen online, I approached the opportunity cautiously.
When I brought up these concerns, I was surprised by how transparent he was. He walked me through the different services Mobius offers, their fulfillment partners, and even shared both positive and negative emails from their sales funnel.
In the end, I decided not to take the job, but I can confirm it’s not a scam, just a company that was disorganized at the time with a lot of moving parts. Since then, I’ve noticed they’ve updated their website
hey femi, how's it going
Yo Yo Yo Femi - hows the business going?
I'm surprised to see a few mutual connections as Femi (few of whom I like / respect). Still skeptical of his business and when I was job searching recently, I couldn't stand seeing multiple Mobius Venture postings. One of our shared mutual contacts is an alum from my MBA program and ran a similar business (wasn't as LinkedIn spammy as Mobius but seemed far more legit).
You should be perma IP banned
No, I seriously had a conversation with this guy and just wanted to write about what I found, and honestly, you can take it with a grain of salt. Now the augment jobs aspect of their business we didn't talk about, so I really can't speak on that.
