Why do you want to go into Finance

Very curious to hear why people want to go into Finance and how that reflects their life's purpose.

Don't you guys want to have a job where you have a higher purpose and help others, rather than solely being concerned with making already big and corrupt banks wealthier? And yes the pay is rlly good, but a lot of people entering Finance already come from financially stable households so I don't see why they are so concerned with money. I come from a low income family and I am still willing to sacrifice some pay to find a job where I can have a real positive purpose.

Being a good person that helps others isn’t mutually exclusive with working in finance - I wouldn’t judge someone solely by their job. Call it resume padding but I know a lot of people in the field that are really passionate about causes they work with, on top of their day job.

That’s something I’ve been building up as well (time permitting), and I’ve gotten support from others about this
