Why was I rejected for spring week?

I want to talk specifically about Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan. The former required just a CV and cover letter for the application, while the other one just required a CV.

I go to a target uni doing a STEM degree. I have a few work experiences as well. I applied to both IBD and technology. Given that neither of the application processes had any assessments or video interviews, what might be the reasons that I was rejected for?

I mean we're gonna need a lot more information, but even if we had a full profile, we'd still only be giving our best guess. Some questions for you:

1. You say you have a few work experiences but are they relevant?

2. You are doing a STEM degree, so have you demonstrated an interest in finance on your resume (club experience, etc.)?

3. Technology is wildly different from IB, did you tailor your resume to each division? IMO resume tailoring is only needed if applying to different fields.

1) Kinda. I interned at a big 4 firm during the summer. That’s the most “related” thing that I’ve done. I also have a year of military experience. Tried to talk about the transferable skills that I’ve gained.

2) I explained why I have an interest in finance. I have also mentioned a few online courses that I’ve undertook in my free time related to banking and finance.

3) I mostly focused on IB roles, but for each application I have tailored the opening paragraph of my CV accordingly.
