Can I do well from Fordham?

I'm a current senior in high school who wants to go into either IB or management consulting (probably consulting). I got a full ride from Fordham and got into the Global Business Honors Program, which has only like 15-20 kids and seems like it could be helpful. I won't be able to transfer to a target because money is an issue for me but I won't qualify for any need based aid. My parents also don't want me taking any debt really. I have a few more college decisions coming back soon (Northeastern, UNC) but I'm most likely attending Fordham. How screwed am I? I hear really mixed things about it for finance. Obviously it's better than similarly ranked schools in the middle of nowhere, but would I be able to break into a top consulting firm or do anything nice? I'm not in love with the idea of working in the back office.

Oh so your sample size of 1 is a good proxy for the recruiting scene for the entire school? Gotcha gotcha

The only people I saw getting decent placements were diversity in some way. I'm not hating, but that route was not a possibility for me so I left.

You can do well from there but it will take a lot of effort. You will have to network a lot and intern during the school year to get an upper hand on the target kids you're competing with (a lot of people don't want to do this but it's critical IMO).

I worked with a few folks from Fordham at my BB. They have a strong alumni network. Something I noticed with them was having decent finance internships throughout school (started freshmen summer and were involved heavily on campus in finance clubs or did part-time internships). So, like most things in life, if you start early and work hard, it'll pay dividends in the future and your hard work will pay off. You got this bud. Fordham is a solid business school and you'll get a good education and a shot at recruiting to IB/ER. Not everything in life is HYPSM/GS/MS/EVR/BX or bust. Congratulations on getting into that program, enjoy your senior year of high school.

This, you just have to put in the work and do it early, it’s very possible to get into BB and it will be a difficult path to get into EB, top consulting firm is impossible, haven’t seen anyone get into MBB
