Will investment bankers be replaced by computers?

Will investment bankers ever cease to exist in as they are now? Will their required skillset shift? Do I need to spend less time watching porn and more time learning how to program?

This question bubbles up every so often. Probably not. There is too much in banking that is an art, not a science. Will computers deliver books to an MDs house?

An analyst role is so much more than quantitative analysis. Right?

I'd say that computers won't replace IB for a while. In short, would you trust a computer to run your next deal process? I have no doubt that a sufficiently advanced AI could find the 'real' best capital structure or give the fairest fairness opinion, but I'm not sure if a computer can pitch.

If someone could make an intelligent machine watch 10000 hours of real assignment pitches and look at every pitchbook ever made, I don't believe it would win very many mandates, but who knows what we'll be able to do down the line.

Edit: completely forgot about part 2: you're safe to beat your meat, for now.
