Will my relationship survive my analyst years?

I am currently in an LDR (she goes to college in Boston and I go to college in New Haven) with a girl that I love. We're from the same hometown so we have spent extended periods being 15 mins away from each other. We've been going for a while now and I think we both feel pretty strongly about having a future together. She's a year behind me but definitely might end up in NYC after graduating.

So, all is going well, but I am nervous about how my career will affect our relationship. I am going to be an IB analyst at a BB. Although I won't be working in a coverage group (I'm in a capital markets group), I am still going to be working long hours. I don't want her to feel neglected. We're used to texting a lot, but will I even have time to text her? Will I have time to see her? From talking to people in my group, it seems that we don't typically work weekends, which gives me some hope, but I am still nervous.

Any advice? Is this an uphill battle that I am only willing to take because I am young and in love? Obviously, I care about my career, but I also want to enjoy life.

If you're both fixated on the long-term and don't mind the short-term sacrifice (seriously, 2 years and then you're out of it?), of course it will.

The little things made a big difference to my relationship. Show your appreciation when you have the time to, go out once in a while, remember the special dates. If you have an understanding partner, it will work out just fine.
