Working Early

Lets say its midnight and you have enough work to do to keep you in the office till 3am. Have any of you bankers gone home at midnight and come in the next day 3 hours earlier (like 5-6am)?

The reason I'm asking is that I am more of a morning person (productive in the early am vs the late night) and I think that I would be more efficient if I came in early rather than stayed late.

Does anyone do this on a semi-regular basis? Does anyone even know if you do this? I know you can't do it if your associate is there with you, but what happens if he/she leaves before midnight? Is this ok to do?

Thanks.

That's my usual schedule. I either leave the office at around midnight/1am or if I'm working from home/hotel I stop at that time. Next morning I'm up at 4-5am and head back to the office/resume work from home or hotel. I work for a boutique firm which I have found to be much more flexible relative to the bulge bracket banks. I would assume though that scheduling varies by firm and manager.
