Would this impact to my graduation affect my FT offer?

Interned at a bank this summer and received/accepted an FT offer. I have two majors and was scheduled to graduate in May 2023 while starting FT training in July 2023. I had an issue pop up where my first major would be finishing on time, but I need to take a summer course for my second major, which would then finish in early June 2023. My office degree award date would be in August 2023 despite finishing all the requirements prior to that.

So my options are:

1) Drop the 2nd major and just graduate in May

2) Take the one class I need for it in late May and finish it in June but not receive my official degree until early August.

Would HR not like it if I did option 2? I guess I could do option 1, but it would suck as it's just one class left. Can't satisfy it any other way unfortunately. In practical terms, option 2 would NOT affect my ability to start FT on time, but idk if it might matter for other reasons.

Edit: Nevermind. I just read my FT contract, and it says I have to receive the degree prior to FT start.

Can you not reach out to anyone on the team you were interning on? Or anyone in HR you may have built rapport with already?

I don’t think you should drop an entire major when it realistically will have no affect on your performance/availability when you start. I think if you explain this it shouldn’t be a problem. Could even get the degree timing in writing from your university and share it with HR.
