You are interviewing two candidates for a junior role.
Candidate 1 barely scrapes by technically, but is easy to talk to and seems like a great person to hang out with.
Candidate 2 nails the technicals and is clearly passionate about finance but seems to be on the nerdy side with few interests outside of finance.
Which would you rather give an offer to?
Candidate 2. Why? Because I won't care to get to know the person if they don't know their shit lmfao. I also like nerdier people, and having few interests outside of finance isn't necessarily bad, Most people lie their way through the interest section anyway.

Does candidate one seem smart enough to pick up what we are doing? If so, yes candidate one. If I am going to be spending double digit hours per day with someone, I would at least like to be around them.
This is also highly dependent on the role though....
