Writing CFA I with 2 weeks of studying??

What up ladies,

So it's been a while since i've been on WSO, see a lot of new users, young youngggins at that. If your in highschool reading this post, exit your browser and go get laid immediately.

My question to everyone is.... is it possible to pass CFA I with 2 weeks worth of studying on top of say 100/125 previous hours in the past?

Was pretty gung ho to breaking into finance for quite some time until recently when a start up came my way (been busy dealing with that for the past month and a bit now) but theres a part of me that still wants to sit in this june, just don't know if i'm being realistic...

Any advice is appreciated!

Do-able.

Did you take any accounting or finance in school?

I have a pretty good friend I did my MSF with who was able to pass both CFA 1 and 2 with under a month's worth of preparation for each. He's a lazy motherfucker, and always waited until the last minute to prepare, but crammed non-stop once it got close to the exam date.

Very Do-able if you prep smart.

Finance, accounting, quant, et cetra are going to be easy if you took courses in school.

What your commonsense or your school could not teach you is the Ethics portion. Do a lot of mock exams you should be able to pass. If you fail, like jqbuyside said you can retake in December without wasting and time.

Interested to find out if you pull it off....

Absolutely doable - assuming you have taken some finance and accounting courses in college or have some background. Focus on the topics that are worth the most (I also had about 2 wks when I did it, and I ended skipping studying Econ because it's only 10%, and focused very heavily on the other topics and passed). Like someone else said, do a lot of mock exams and questions.

I would also leave studying Ethics last - because it's more memorization than theory/calculation, it can be easy to forget if you focus on it early. If you read it closer to the end of your studies, it's a bit more fresh in your head - and again, key is doing mock questions to get a good idea of how certain scenarios are considered under their rules

Kanon did you end up passing it with 2 wks of study?

I hope you are not attempting Lvl2 with only 2 week of studying
