WSO is removing posts about affirmative action.

My post got removed received this and all I did was just state the new ruling on affirmative action and said I support it:

Hi Corporate Monke,

Unfortunately, we had to remove your post. While your post may not be directly against our official, it has been removed because it will lead to a high number of violations (or already has).

As such, to save WSO from excessive moderation burden, we had to remove your post.

We appreciate your contributions and hope you understand this decision.

Best Regards, WSO Mod Team

It's cute people think this'll change anything.

Woke America is here to stay. The puppet masters will just continue to move the goalposts further back.

Don't get mad that an admin of an extremely-niche internet forum took down your post because the commenters were saying everything but the N word. There's bigger fish than we'll ever imagine that will never be fried

just odd to take it down. my posts had people just stating why they agreed or didn’t with the decision. Also, I don’t think it will do anything either due to moving the goalposts as you mentioned but it could be a good stepping stone. but just odd for wso to remove posts related to it

Honestly? Good.

This should be a professional forum not some political circle jerk.

I’m looking at some of these comments and I cannot believe what some folks are saying.

The one benefit of wallstreet is that it should be objective and focused solely on the economics of policy. Now it’s just a bunch of interns complaining about one thing or another. I’d fully support Patrick banning politics off this website all together.

Always here to help!

WallStreetOasis.com Patrick, I know that these types of conversations are not what we want on WSO, but given that this is actually topical and there was interesting discussion on what this means for colleges and even further IB, I would let the conversations go for a limited amount of time and just heavily moderate any non-constructive comments.

If this was any other day of the week, sure pull off these discussions as we've seen them a million times but I think given the newsworthy nature of the decision, everyone is talking about this and it seems a bit silly to censor.

In fact, I think that the SCOTUS decision even speaks to this by saying that there was unfairness here and it needs to be discussed and corrected. Half the point is that you should not be censored any longer for noting that the previous situation was unfair.

I think this is fair, it's honestly just a lot to handle... I can republish that post but then it tends to create "open season" for both sides to use WSO to try and further their position and argue.

This then leads to violations stacked on violation... And for what?

It's not central to the mission of the site and so it eating up valuable mod time to police those threads. This is detrimental to everything else we are trying to do...

On the bright side, some great ui/UX changes coming soon site wide in the next few weeks.

I'll try republishing it but my expectations are low for respectful discourse having done this for 17yrs...
