"Your analysis is wrong"
It never fails that in the middle of the most intense weeks, there is a small glimmer of hope that makes its way into my inbox or my walk to lunch. This week's nugget of whimsy happened to be an email from a VP:
Last night around 1AM, just as I had finished binding up books for our pitch this morning, I get an email with a subject line reading:
"URGENT! FIGURES ARE WRONG MUST UPDATE ASAP!"
....no body to the email just the subject line....
the rest of our non-"millennial" office has yet to make the move over to Slack so subject line only emails are the current staple in my team
Frantically, I grab my phone and call my SVP. Nothing. Immediately goes to voicemail. I pour over the numbers again, railing the F2 key and checking a few sketchy assumptions I plugged up in my CFS.
30 minutes later I get the call. (skipping 3 minutes of BS) "Figures in Revenue are wrong" me: "In what way"
"There's an error in your sheet, your figures are coming out to hashtags. You must have deleted a cell on another sheet"
In some small way, this gave me hope to live and work another day.
TL;DR
