Zero Response to my Lateral Outreach

I have reached out to over 100 people to network in hopes of getting into a lateral process and have not gotten even one response.

For context I am coming from a lower BB in a solid group and I attended a semi-target and have a respectable GPA. My outreach is cold as the groups I am targeting don’t have a ton of alumni but still not sure why I haven’t even gotten one response.

Anyone have experience lateraling from a good bank to a great bank? Care to share how you got people on the phone? Feels like it was so much easier when I was a student…

yea this is how it is. no sense in talking if we arent hiring. i would try and tap into your current network and foster those relationships

Wouldn’t take it personally. I would just follow-up with some of them in a few weeks. Spots sometimes open in the middle/end of the summer, so they’ll likely respond to inbounds once they have the green light from the group/hr to start a process.
