It is not common at all - in fact I never had an analyst or associate ask for it. Have had a more senior person ask one time and I just sent them my transcript. They called me to let me know they unfortunately couldn’t consider me due to low gpa 3.5.
Wow thanks for that input. Just wondering, my assumption is that they want to softly weed me out without being rude. Because this is a Canadian top 5. What u think ?
With the amount of lying about GPA and test scores that occurs today, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if someone asks for a transcript. The subsequent moral hazard that usually takes place on this forum of justifying lying with the fact that “banks don’t care about you, why should you care about them” is just gross. Call me crazy, but integrity is far more important
great point above. Also if I'm vetting someone in college that doesn't have their GPA listed, I'd definitely be concerned about it. Hopefully your extracurriculars can make up for it

Appreciate your thoughts. Can I ask if there's a formal baseline.. I'm at 75% or 3.0/4.0 scale? I'd explain my story with how I was managing a demanding part-time job whilst studying and the impact of Covid-19 but how does this differ or change your opinion because obviously don't want to come in with a sob story as everyone has their own hardships haha.

How low are we talking 3.5? I’ve never had this come up before so wondering what it could be.
Hahahahha…. Like a 3.0/4. And my transcript has a F in my first year….
