Very cool article.

Although the kid who's at Citi pisses me off just by looking at him. He has that sort of smile and face that screams he has an annoying personality. Also, black suit + hand in pocket + selfie is NF.

If you take a selfie of yourself with your hand in your pocket and then add a filter to it, you're probably gay.

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT

If you click in the article you can access their instagram profiles -> exactly what everybody tries to avoid when cleaning up social media. hmmmmm...they should think twice about posting as an INTERN

Any odds that some of em will get in trouble for this?

Stupid of them to post these pics online, with the company logos and all.

Also, guy in the first pic has a punchable face. His color combo pisses me off as well; he must be in IT.
The HBS guys have MAD SWAGGER. They frequently wear their class jackets to boston bars, strutting and acting like they own the joint. They just ooze success, confidence, swagger, basically attributes of alpha males.
While some of the people shown seem pretty cocky, I don't understand all the hate. Some people like to upload all the parts of their lives for the world to see. People upload pictures of themselves studying, dicking around, partying, eating dinner with family, basically all aspects of their lives. An internship is most likely going to be a major turning point in their lives as they transition from college to the real world. Is something wrong with taking a picture and placing it on instagram or Facebook where you essentially make a timeline out of pictures? People post statuses about anything and this seems no different.

It's just not classy. You're supposed to be an excited/enthusiastic kid, but you're also supposed to be mature enough not to broadcast your accomplishments.

every time I open a new tab in safari and it shows my top sites, the first kid's picture is staring back at me... fuck.

Sigh, the high expectations of WSO.

There's a MSSB in every other city. It just seems weird to take a picture of yourself reflecting your nervousness for a job that requires you to make copies, get coffee and create pretty graphs of inflation rates since 1890.

At least they are not boasting through social media as much as my Vemma and Herbalife friends.

Can we get like a quote from a Herbalife guy or something? I need this.

I'm not the one to brag, boast, and/or share much when it comes to social media. But I don't really see anything wrong here, young adults who are excited about their start in corporate America sharing it with their social networks. Tell me if i'm wrong here but I believe WSO has brain washed a lot of you guys, and made you believe group-thinking is okay.

Btw, it seems like these kids feautured in the article are the ones who live their lives freely and still make it to a BB, without giving up their friday nights to enhance their modeling skills .

It also seems like some of these kids featured in the article wouldn't have anything better to do on a Friday night than enhance their modeling skills...

Personally, everyone of those kids are idiots for mixing work with personal social media. I don't care how many followers you have or how much your mom wants to see your cubicle - your work for a professional services firm and your reputation is all you have. If I were a FT analyst or associate at any of those firms, I'd definitely pull each kid aside, tell them to delete their posts, stop acting like idiots, and get to work.

If I were a manager, this is an easy way for me to start populating the bottom bucket of the summers.
