Advice for a dazed and confused undergrad?

In the middle of SA 26's interviews and feeling lost - imposter syndrome

Background:

  • Currently a Junior at a non-target double major in Finance and Data Analytics
  • Joined the investments club (pretty decent wins at pitch competitions and ~7M AUM, our SMIF functions very similarly to a boutique actively managed AM fund, so I have concrete experience doing the DD)
  • A sophomore internship doing investment analysis, typical fundamental equity analysis type work
  • Didn't recruit as optimally as I would have liked; I spent more time learning technicals and getting fast with Excel rather than cold emailing
  • Side note -> played D1 FCS FB, so I try and leverage the fact I played collegiate sports where I can, it's probably been the most helpful part of my resume

Currently in the running for 3 internships: 2 boutique shops for AM and 1 for ER in t1/t2 cities. Ultimately, I'm unclear about what I want. No family in a white-collar job, let alone finance, has left me a bit lost the past three years chasing your typical IB BB/EB networking, application, rinse and repeat system. I feel that, personally, I'm a bit stuck. I want to channel my ambitions on a path, but I don't know the direction I should go. I love talking markets, trade ideas, etc. I've done a bunch of my personal portfolio management in the past, and I've really enjoyed it. I think the best idea I have for my path is sell-side ER and exit to HF. Would love to get some advice and gauge if I'm in the right place or I need to get my sh#t together and grind like crazy to get caught up. Thanks for reading the incoherent ramblings of a caffeine addicted undergrad!
