Advice needed - GSAM Onboarding Client Analyst?

I'm an international student and sponsorship has been really tough to come by. I recently got a second round with Goldman for this position. As for my background: I graduated from a semi-target, >3.7 GPA, 1 year of internship experience in fixed income. Several questions:

  • I am assuming this is a sales-oriented, operations type of role. Is the Goldman name going to help me, or am I dooming myself with this position?

  • If I do take the GSAM Onboarding Client Analyst role, how difficult would it be to lateral out to a different position if I take the CFA? How difficult would it be moving to a different role in Goldman vs moving to a different firm?
