Are HR/management jobs the safer bet in the AI era?

All the recent news around entry level white collar jobs (and even blue collar jobs to some extent through robotics/IoT) being at high risk of automation has got me thinking. Wouldn't the safer jobs be jobs in which you manage people? Obviously there will be a less new junior people to manage in an AI age, but it seems like the existing headcount at companies wouldn't be massively cut anytime soon.

All of the admin/HR people at my company are constantly sending us junior people new courses to "upskill" and "stay relevant" in while never doing any trainings themselves. Since they decide who gets hired/fired they also haven't been exposed to the layoffs while slashing front office teams and middle office. Not planning on doing anything HR related for my career but open to any thoughts.
