Best role for "switching off" after work

I've come to realise that longish hours aren't actually that big of a deal to me. What is a big deal is being able to have a line separating my work and my personal life. Now inevitably the more senior someone gets, the more this line disappears (the world doesn't just stop working past work hours), but I imagine there is still a comparison between different roles.

Just for an example, have heard that MDs/Partners at IBs are literally pets of the clients. They have to wake up at 3am if the client wants them to. They have to skip Saturday if the client wants them to. So on.

I think I find trading interesting, but am concerned that it's hard to be a good trader and be able to switch off. Those who are good are constantly thinking/stressing about the markets.

What roles are slightly better when separating work and life?

I used to work in a cushy job in corporate finance. As long as your budgets and forecasts were good, you had nothing to worry about. I worked in defense so clients would never communicate outside of 9-4pm basically.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee
