Best Wall Street jobs for career stability/security
knowing how the back/middle office are pretty much glorified minimum wage, its obvious the front office is where people both have better job security and pick up more transferable skills. However, IBD guys are known to not last long or be career bankers. Which positions of IBD, ER associate, trader, corporate finance, etc. have the best job security if you get lucky enough to be hired? How much more security do PE jobs have? Are bigger companies more secure than boutiques/MM? I'm goin MSF and I want a career, not simply a job. Is non-MBB consulting a safe career? Is non-accounting Big Four safe? Which career is one in which you're not so replaceable?
You sound misinformed. First of all, I am aware of the huge bias people on this forum have towards front office jobs (myself included, to be fair - that's why I'm going into IB vs. ops) but back and middle office jobs are hardly "glorified minimum wage." On the contrary, many back/middle office positions have similar starting salaries to front office positions, and most of the earnings gap lies in the bonus. You can easily make a great career out of a back/middle office job - you'd have a great work/life balance and make much more money than you would at most other 9-5 jobs.
PE jobs don't have a ton of job security. I'd say out of your list, corporate finance jobs have the best job security (just my opinion) and smaller firms don't necessarily have worse job security than larger firms.
agreed back office gets too much shit on this forum any position at a top bank is honestly a great job
I would work on grammar and the concept of compound interest first.
Front office finance jobs aren't the only jobs that would get you there...
FUCK. ME. You have it all figured out. I'm trying to think of what to eat for dinner tonight.
Quant finance entails math that's a couple orders of magnitude more complex than high school pre-calc.
