Bland Resume

Been networking more and I think I know whats going wrong for me. Although I 'tick the boxes' my resume is a bit 'too typical' and almost bland.

Does anyone know how I can re-brand my resume and make myself look more interesting? (not just for my resume, to genuinely be a more interesting person too)

Sports? (either at university or joining a club outside of university)
Internship/work experience abroad?
Branded name firms (even if its a retail job!)?

Any other ideas? What do you guys/girls do with your time when you are not studying?

Happy to PM my current CV for some further input.

Yea sports is what I thought. My friend said the key is to know your stuff/be able to talk about it for hours. Is is better to have less but go into more depth (e.g. certificates/levels in that sport) or breath? Are sports the only way?
