Breaking in

Posting here hoping to get some guidance. I have 1st in Econ from lower end Russell Group and currently doing MSc Finance at probably the top semi-target. Unfortunately, for reasons outside of my control I wasn’t able to get any internship experience over my summers in undergrad, which has put me at quite a big disadvantage. I’ve applied for around 40/50 roles from most areas (IB/AM/WM/Risk) but got no offers, only 1 or 2 final rounds and didn’t manage to land the job. My question is, for someone with no real connections or someone to look to for guidance, what’s my best course of action to land a decent finance role in any area that will provide me with a decent exit opportunity? I view the first couple years of my career as a means to an end as I know that I’m not the ideal candidate to land my dream job at present given my lack of experience. My guess is look for an off-cycle after Master’s but if anyone could provide any guidance, or give me an idea of where I have the best chance, I’d be really grateful.
