Breaking into IB from corporate?

Hey!  I graduated two years ago from a top target undergrad b-school with a major in finance and always had my sights on IB.  Unfortunately due to some family circumstances, my grades suffered in undergrad (3.2 gpa) and I missed out on recruiting season.  Long story short, I graduated right when Covid hit, the job market was horrendous, and was extremely lucky to find a strategy & ops role at a leading media company where I’ve been for the past two years.

I’m still looking to break into banking, but unsure of the feasibility coming from a non-finance corporate role.  I do research and analyses for multi-billion dollar licensing deals as well as a lot of client partnership and ops work, but not much finance related, despite having the relevant coursework.  (I have PE internship experience from high school but doubt that counts)

Have I completely missed the boat and am I better off getting an MBA and then trying again?  Or is there a chance I could still break in?  Despite poor GPA, I believe my work experience has many transferable skills and I did ace the ACT if that makes up for any of it.  I’m also planning on completing the Financial Edge Training IB program if that can help in any way.
