Can I prepare for an IB interview in 24 hours?

I know this sounds insane. But have a R1 at a top boutique tomorrow, and I'll be honest I am really underprepared. Especially my technical knowledge - I know bits and pieces, but it is nowhere near good enough. What can I do in the next 24 hours to get me technically ready?

I know this sounds like an impossible task, but any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Will mirror financegigmasigmachad here and say no.

Technicals are more of a gauge for if you put in the work or not, especially at smaller firms where we expect you to hit the ground running.

Most Qs will be more nuanced than just the M&I guide, better to know than to memorize. I would spend more time reviewing concepts before your interview.

Is it HR screen or technical round?

If it is screen, it will be behavioral. And you have some time to prep.

If it is technical, prep accounting, DCF, and valuation first from BIWS guide.

If you understand basic structure of financial statements, how they flow, and how valuation works, you have a chance to clear it.

Don’t waste your time learning details of LBOs and advanced questions. Optimize your time, and have one mini stock pitch ready.

Don’t panic and prep such that you understand these 3. If you sound like you know what you’re talking about, not knowing a couple of answers isn’t always a ding if you can walk through your thought process.

Keep at it, only way to fail is to not try at all.
