CFA® for Temp to Hire?

So I just got a temp position at a MM corporate bank. It is a temp position as an analyst in the sales group. In February I have the option of interview for a FT position.

My question is what sort of things should I try to be doing to get the FT offer? I was thinking about taking CFA® L1 in December. Any other suggestions?

I was also thinking if I don't get the FT position the CFA® will help me out a bit for other jobs?

Is this a good idea or should I just try to leverage this role into something totally different?

I did a temp to hire role and all you have to do is excel at your job and make them want you. You are already in the position, taking the CFA for THAT position will not help. Taking the CFA for other jobs wouldn't hurt so it is up to you.

I would focus on doing the best work, being efficient, and most important getting along with the team. The intangibles is why they will want to keep you around. Why would they replace you with someone else if they enjoy having you on the team?

Lastly, one way to really solidify yourself in a position is to set up a process for doing something, whether that be keeping track of clients, prioritizing inquiries or something else. Create a process or method for returning a better result and manage that as your own.

i would def go for the cfa. it will open doors to other places and will allow you to move up where you are more easily (most likely). however, DO NOT do it to the detriment of your current position...it is not an 'oh i sucked this quarter b/c i was studying' excuse.

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit!
