Consulting - Is it too late for a Fall 2013 start?

Does anyone in consulting know if it is too late for a Fall 2013 start? Has pretty much all the hiring for that taken place already?

I'm in a fellowship program, and I'm considering whether or not to extend another year (until July 2014). I would ideally like to stop this year and enter into a consulting firm in Fall 2013. But have all the spots effectively been filled at this point? Would it be smarter to wait to apply in September 2013? At that point I will be 2+ years out of school.

Thoughts? I plan on contacting people at various firms anyway to see if they can offer advice and help, but would be interested in what others have to say. But would a partner even be able to help me this late in the game?

You've answered your own question - call up the offices in cities you are interested in, speak to the recruiting coordinator and you will get the timeline ... also, while there is a hiring season, there is always hiring out-of-season if you are good and they are looking ... just talk to them and apply!

Thanks for the advice GP. That's what one of my friends who's a analyst said too, but wondering if anyone can tell me otherwise, since I'm not coming from undergrad, I feel it might be a little awkward calling up recruiters haha
