Did I just fail my background check?

So I interned at a BB last summer and accepted my return offer in late August/early September. Recently, our firm began its onboarding process and I got dinged for a job I worked at small Sports Club in my hometown. I sent the onboarding team my former managers number so they can reach out, but I also said that I got paid "under the table". Looking back on it I really wish I hadn't said that (for obvious reasons), and I'm wondering if this is cause to revoke my offer as it is technically illegal. I reached out to my former manager and she said she would vouch for me, but naturally I'm still nervous about this whole situation. I never once claimed it was some professional role, just a basic high school job. Any thoughts, am I cooked?

There is a greater level of rigor typically used for FT than SA background checks since the FT checks need to be "FINRA compliant" (somewhat loosely defined). So even if they use the same BG check company, they can ask for a greater level of due diligence to verify everything. Or, they often "spot check" random items on the form/resume you submit, and by chance, now it was spot checked.

UPDATE: Onboarding team just requested that I have my high school boss email the screeners confirming my employment. I'm gonna do it but I feel pretty bad dragging my boss from 4 yrs ago into this process. I wish I just left ts off the form they made me fill out but I was trying to be thorough...

Yeah lowkey I never put down anything I wasn’t a W-2 with a solid paper trail at. They don’t care and it’s not worth your headache.
