From Big 4 (Audit) in Greece to IB in New York

Hello, I have a BSc in Accounting and Finance and MSc in Financial Management (Both from Top Schools in Greece) .

Also I work for Deloitte as an Analyst in Greece.

What is the right methodology to find a job @ IB or AM in NYC if you require also sponsorship. (not immediately, but lets say in max 3-4 years)

My educational plan now is to obtain CFA Level I, is it a good idea ?

PS: I will appreciate comments from foreign people that work in NYC

The CFA L1 exam will not help you get into IB. I think you have a couple of paths:

a) Transfer to Deloitte NYC then transfer to IB

b) Get a top 10 MBA in the US then go to IB

c) The most unlikely path - transfer directly to NYC IB

If you get to Deloitte NYC, you're probably going to have to go to a regional IB shop. You might not break into a BB or EB unless you get the T10 MBA
