Fuck do I do with my life

Gonna keep it short and as far away from a rant as possible. So I'll graduate next year with a comp sci degree with a descent paying job (think 100USD equivalent lifestyle in a 3rd world country). The problem is that I find writing code and fixing bugs in a giant stack of erroneous code extremely mind numbing and monotonous. Now here comes the big IB/PE/MBB gig dream that can save me from the aforementioned hellhole. The caveat being that the third world country that I speak of has only BO/MO (JPMC CRG/Bain capability group/Mckinsey Knowledge center)  jobs for an undergrad. To break into FO roles, one has to go to a top MBA program. So I know I'm either stuck in tech or BO IB, what I wanna know is which of these should I pick given I wanna end up in FO IB/PE. Do you think going to tech then getting an MBA is a good idea in this case and would a IB/PE gig even be possible after a tech role even with a top MBA or should I grind it out in the BO in hopes of one day getting into FO?

Yeah it's probably worse in IB since you're doing those monotonous tasks for much longer. If I were you, I would go for a product manager role at tech company like Google, Apple, Netflix, etc. After that you will have a GREAT chance in getting into a Venture Capital firm, because they love PMs.

Once you are in VC, you can pivot to PE or other types of firms since you will be partaking in a form of private equity. This is more practical because you are leveraging your skill set and will take less time while getting paid big bucks by tech companies then transitioning to VC.

After VC, you can go PE if you really want to since VC is a form of private equity and contains deal making.

Go ahead and JUMP!
