Getting a job in finance (with a non-finance degree)

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask you for advice since I am looking for a job in finance (in London) but I have no finance education or experience. I come from legal and sustainability background. I am in my mid to late twenties.

This is my resume very briefly:

Bachelor in Law, Master in Law, LL.M. in international business law (all 3 of them acquired outside the UK, but in the EU). I had 1 internship in law firm abroad as well as few months work experience in a law firm (which made me realize I didn´t want to do law).

I also have Master degree in Climate Change (from a Russel Group uni in London) and 2 sustainability/charity internships. My long-term goal is to get into sustainable finance but I thought it would be good to first get some experience in pure finance job/s and then specialize later.

Currently, I am about to finish CFI´s FMVA program (I learned a lot in there to be honest). I wonder where to go from there? What other steps should I take to get a good finance job?

These are some ideas that I thought about:

-completing CFI´s CMSA (capital markets and securities analyst) + ESG certification

-completing CISI´s Capital Markets program (maybe also the Corporate Finance program)

-completing CFA level 1

-completing CBI´s Chartered Banker Diploma program as well as Green and Sustainable Finance program

-studying MSc in Finance at LSE, Imperial or Oxford (if I would even get in; but honestly I cannot afford to study full time anymore, maybe part time, but tuition is definitely too much for me)

Honestly, this is just what I thought would be useful but I have absolutely no idea which one of them would have a real value for landing a decent finance job. That´s why I would truly appreciate your advice and of course any other suggestions you may have. What would you do in my position?

Also, what kind of finance job would you say I have most chances getting into, if any? I feel quite familiar with corporate stuff because of my legal background, so I thought about corporate finance but I am open to anything interesting.
