Getting out of Big 4 and into Finance

I'm sure this question has been asked plenty of times before, but I am looking for people who may have gone through something similar (hopefully there are a few of you).

I'm currently working at a Big 4 Accounting firm in Tax (1.5 years) mainly in the Financial services industry. I have two degrees, finance and accounting. It was my initial goal to pursue a career in finance but was sidetracked and ultimately ended up in the accounting world.

I have decided that the tax accounting world is not for me and am starting to seriously consider a career change. I don't expect much. I don't have a particularly stellar resume but its not terrible.

Any advice on the possibility of the change, what I should watch for or strive for?

You mean consider suicide?

Its really going to depend on who you know & where you are, just go out network, meet people etc. Not being rude but, there are thousand of threads on here regarding this very topic. The search bar is top right, yellow box.

On top of what jbone said, if you search those older threads, several guys who've done what you're trying to do are in the comments, you could talk to them. Also look within the Big 4 groups on WSO for people who'd have more timely/specific advice.
