GS IBD Sophomore Summer Analyst 2024 Megathread

Saw a bunch of threads out there but wanted to consolidate here. To recap what's out there:

  • General consensus is that a new round of sophomore apps is opening Aug 15th
  • Diversity not required but spots often go to diverse applicants
  • More of an HR driven rather than Campus Recruiting Driven process.

Wanted to gauge whether we should be networking for this role since its more HR driven? And if anyone the firm could add/clarify anything about the program since it's more lowkey that would be great. Good luck everyone!

You can choose whether to apply for "classic" or "financing" IBD for the junior program.

For sophomore year, your superday is for all IBD divisions. You won't find out until after you have your interview if you'll get a financing group.

Ex. you can't be placed into a financing group if you interview for classic IB during junior year.

For other sophomore BB programs, such as MS or BofA - you know that you won't get ECM/DCM positions during the placement process.
